House of Trax is a locally owned website for musicians that is created and run by musicians. Bands and artists can upload songs, post blogs, post show dates on the public calendar, fans can write reviews and comment on their favorite band's music, bands can also sell downloadable mp3's of their music in addition to selling other merchandise like Tshirts, stickers, CD's. Artists can also upload videos of their shows, and fans can create an online radio station that automatically streams a custom list of songs uploaded by their favorite artists. Artists can also upload photos and album artwork. No website setup is necessary. Payments to artists are made via Paypal(which accepts creditcards), and right now for an introductory period no commission is being taken for any sales made by an artist. House of trax also offers friendly URL's, such as www.houseoftrax.com/artistname, so artists can easily spread the word about their site, and can more easily use their site as their homepage. Fans can also contact the artists via the messaging system. We definitely take any and all feedback seriously, and we are working hard to make a website that caters to Minneapolis/St Paul metro area bands. There are plenty of sites out there that provide this functionality; we are different because we are musicians as well as website/ecommerce knowledgable.
